Where The Quiet Things Grow™

Every Story Begins With Wonder

Where The Quiet Things Grow™ is an original children’s storytelling series created by writer and storyteller Meggen Harris and developed through Quiet Things Studio™. Told through modern parables, the stories explore resilience, belonging, patience, courage, identity, and wonder—inviting children into imaginative worlds where some of life’s biggest lessons are discovered in the smallest moments.

Created primarily for children ages 4–8, the stories are designed to live across books, animation, and visual storytelling, with layers of meaning that can resonate with the grown-ups reading and watching alongside them.

A young green seedling emerges from the earth with a drop of water hanging from its leaf.

Built One Story at a Time

Each story begins with something small—a seed of curiosity, courage, patience, belonging, or wonder. From there, it grows into a world of its own, inviting children into stories where some of life’s biggest lessons are discovered in the quietest moments.

Meet The Ants & The Peony

The Ants & The Peony is the first story from Where The Quiet Things Grow™, a gentle parable about patience, perseverance, and trusting what is happening even when you can’t yet see the result.

When a colony of ants discovers a mysterious peony bud, they begin to wonder whether it will ever bloom. As the seasons unfold, they learn that growth doesn’t always happen on our schedule, and that some of life’s most beautiful things are worth waiting for.

At its heart, this is a story about the space between effort and outcome. About showing up, holding on, and finding meaning in the moments when nothing seems to be happening at all.

From Page to Screen

Where The Quiet Things Grow™ was conceived to move beyond the page. Through animation, narration, sound, and visual storytelling, each story can become an immersive experience of its own—one children can watch, revisit, and discover in a different way.

More Quiet Things Are Growing

The Ants & The Peony is only the beginning. New stories, characters, books, and animated experiences are growing within the world of Where The Quiet Things Grow™—each exploring a different facet of resilience, belonging, identity, courage, patience, and wonder.

Created by Meggen Harris

Where The Quiet Things Grow™ was created by writer and storyteller Meggen Harris as an original intellectual property developed through Quiet Things Studio™. What began with a single story has grown into an expanding world of original characters and modern parables designed to live across books, animation, audio, and other forms of storytelling.

The idea is simple: a story shouldn’t have to live in only one place. Children can read it on the page, watch it come to life through animation, or listen as it is read aloud—experiencing the same story in different ways and returning to it as they grow.

And the world is still growing. New stories, animated experiences, premium print editions, audio, merchandise, and other extensions of Where The Quiet Things Grow™ are in development, all created around the same belief that some of life’s biggest lessons grow quietly.
