JOURNALISM & SELECTED ARCHIVES

For more than a decade, Meggen Harris has reported on the people, places, and ideas shaping how we live. From travel and relocation to wellness, culture, and the changing meaning of a life well lived, her work has appeared in Forbes and reached international audiences through syndication. This curated archive brings together selected reporting, features, and stories from across her journalism career.

BEHIND THE BYLINE

Curiosity has always been my compass. I’ve spent my career asking questions, challenging assumptions, and following the details that lead to stories others might overlook.

As one of Forbes’ consistently top-performing contributors for more than a decade, I’ve written approximately 450 original features, generating over eight million views and reaching international audiences through syndication. My reporting has taken me behind the scenes with founders of iconic luxury brands, entrepreneurs, and innovators, while exploring the intersections of travel, culture, wellness, design, business, and the evolving ways we live.

Long before journalism became a central part of my work, I was immersed in architecture, historic preservation, and entrepreneurship—experiences that sharpened my appreciation for craftsmanship, ingenuity, and the stories behind the things we create. That curiosity carried into my earlier writing for The Huffington Post, independent publications, and ventures of my own.

I’ve never been particularly interested in staying within the boundaries of a single beat. What interests me is understanding how things work, why they matter, and what happens when we look at them differently.

This archive is a selection of the stories, conversations, and discoveries that have shaped that journey.

A Note on the Archives

Some earlier work featured in this collection was originally published under the byline Meggen Taylor. All articles are credited to their original publications, with links to the published work.

TRAVEL, REAL ESTATE & HOSPITALITY

A place is never just a place. Behind every remarkable destination, historic property, and ambitious hospitality concept is a story about the people who imagined it, the decisions that shaped it, and the experiences it creates.

My reporting has explored everything from architectural preservation and extraordinary real estate to luxury hotels, innovative travel concepts, and the evolving relationship between people and place. I’ve long been fascinated by a particular contradiction: real estate is fixed, but the way we live is increasingly mobile. What happens when our ideas of home, travel, and belonging begin to overlap?

Whether examining the craftsmanship behind a historic property, the vision of a hospitality founder, or new ways of living and moving through the world, I’ve always been drawn to the stories that challenge conventional thinking about where—and how—we choose to live.
